Shooting Facility Rules There is no substitute for common sense!

 Please, respect the people around you and be mindfull of your surroundings, practice safe firearm handling!

Authority: The range committee acting under the authority of the Board of Directors has established the following range rules to govern the shooting activities at the DragoonTrail Chapter, Izaak Walton League.

Purpose: The following Range Rules and regulations are established to ensure safety and discipline for members and guests on the ranges and property as well as safety for our neighbors and surrounding community.

Enforcement: All members are expected to politely point out to the shooter in violation of these rules, the nature of the violation, request that they stop and report the incident along with the violator.s name to:

Penalties: The range committee will review all reports of range violations and after meeting with the member in question, will take one of the following actions:

1. No Action;

2. Verbal Warning;

3. Written Reprimand;

4. Temporary Suspension of membership

5. Revocation of membership

Range Rules:

Range Rules are posted at the facility.

Safety Rules :

1. No alcohol or persons under the influence of alcohol in the range area during shooting.

2. Do not handle any firearm while someone is forward of the shooting line.

3. Keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction (down range) at all times.

4. Insure every firearm is unloaded before leaving the firing line.

5. Eye and ear protection are recommended.

6. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.

7. Handle every firearm as if it were loaded.

8. Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.

9. Keep all guns unloaded except when it is your turn to shoot and you are at the firing line. Never leave a firearm loaded while not in use. All firearms should be in one of the following conditions when not in use:

1. Unloaded slide locked back.

2. Unloaded and cylinder open.

3. Unloaded and bolt open.

4. Unloaded in a holster or case.

5. Muzzle loading firearms must remain ucapped.
