The Ankeny Ikes Practical Shooters

Next USPSA match is October 13th, set up at 8:3AM with shooting to begin as soon as the stages are ready to go!

Monthly Steel Matches are scheduled for the 3rd Sunday of the month at 9AM. See the calendar for dates and times of these shoots.

Thursday Night Steel!! (Steel Match Lite) We hold a steel match on the last Thursday of each month. This is a 2 stage match so there will be no stage resets involved. $3 a gun, bring as many as you like! Since there will be no stage resets we are able to move people thru the stages quite quickly. Once you are done with stage 2 you will turn in your sheet and if you want to run again or with another gun you can pay $3 more and get back in line! Shooting will begin by 6pm... come early...shoot often!

USPSA: We are on Winter Break for night USPSA matches! We hold night USPSA matches starting the in the Spring until the end of September. Set up will starts between 4 and 4:30 with matches starting as soon as the courses are completed (approx 5:30). Late arrivals will be accommodated whenever possible. Steel Challenge Format

This is an informal Steel Challenge style match. New shooters and all skill levels are welcome! Each match will have 4 stages with a total minimum round count of 100. Stages will consist of 3- 5 steel targets shot from a stationary position. Stages begin at 9AM and approximately Noon. Shooters will be limited to one entry in the morning with the stages repeated in the afternoon for additional entries and late arriving shooters. Results and Weather Cancellations are posted on this website and on the AIPShooters Yahoo group. Cost: $5 per entry.

Center Fire: Minimum caliber of 9mm/.38 special with holster.
Rim-fire: 22 Long Rifle caliber only.
2+ magazines are recommended.
Pistol caliber long guns are allowed. (No high power rifles.)

USPSA Format

New shooters and all skill levels are welcome! You do NOT have to be a USPSA member to participate. Each match will have 3 stages. Stages will consist of paper and steel targets shot from a variety of positions with many courses involving movement. Competitors move, negotiate obstacles, run, speed-reload, and drive their guns through each of several courses as fast as their skills will allow. Tuesday night set up will start between 4 and 4:30 with matches starting as soon as the courses are completed (approx 5:30). Weekend event set up starts at 8:30AM. Late arrivals will be accommodated whenever possible. Results and Weather Cancellations are posted on the IowaShooter Yahoo group or you can call or email Scott or Wendy Arnburg at 515-681-5973 or Ankenyikes@aol.com.

Cost: $10 for Ankeny Ikes Members and $15 for nonmembers
Center Fire: Minimum caliber of 9mm/.38 special with holster.
