The March 2014 Board Meeting is tonight at the Chapter House. The meeting will start at 6:30pm and follow the attached agenda. This is a great opportunity for membership to interact with the Board of Directors as well as get a better understanding of what's going on at the Ikes.
If you haven't picked up your gate access card you can do so at the meeting as well.
After an absolutely brutal winter, we are finally scheduled to get a taste of spring. I can almost hear all the rusty gun safe hinges creaking open. For some of us it has been a little while since we've handled them.
Would you bet your life that you didn't leave a round in the chamber when you packed that gun away?
Always assume the gun is loaded. When you take you gun out of the safe or your range bag, make sure it is pointed in a safe direction and keep you finger off the trigger. Follow safe unloading procedures for your type of firearm and make sure you look into the chamber (or all of them if its a revolver).
Since it has been so long I just wanted to get everyone thinking about gun safety. I have heard too many stories that ended with "... I was sure the thing was unloaded."
Thanks to everyone who came out today and thanks to Jesse for acting as Match Director for the day... he brought some good stages for the ground conditions we had and I am glad to see there were others with as many mikes on stage 2 as I had.
There have been a few changes of responsibility within our Chapter. I have accepted the Outdoor Ethics (Range Safety) Chair, a change that will enable Don Nelson, the previous Outdoor Ethics Chair, to focus on the the Scholastic Trap Program which has seen incredible growth.
Keep an eye on this site for upcoming details on the future of the Facilities Coordinator position. Until then, if there is anything you need related to facilities you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org , or any other board member.
Just over 2 weeks ago you may have noticed a major change in our website as we upgraded to new software. Due to a number of issues with that software I was working in parallel on this newer version of the website to address them. I hope the back-to-back changes don't throw too many of you off, both versions of the new website are very similar in layout and content, but if you think something is missing please let me know by contacting email@example.com.
If you registered for an account I apologize but there was no way to migrate users directly, so I would ask that you do so again and apologize for the inconvenience.
